Theresa Slaten is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist with over 20 years of experience both in private optometry practices and in hospital clinics. From the time spent in ophthalmology clinics, she developed interest in complex Contact Lens fittings, Glaucoma co-management and Children’s Vision. She is also passionate about charity work, and typically spends 1-2 weeks every year, providing eyecare in remote clinics. Through this exposure, she has acquired knowledge in Diabetes and Ocular pathologies.
Theresa believes in a patient-centred approach and education, to empower you in maintaining your eye health.
Having worked in New Zealand for 20 years, she is now back in Australia, where she gained her optometry qualifications (University of NSW). Hobart has a particular draw card because of the connection to Antarctica. Her hobby in atmospheric science has given her a taste of Antarctica, having spent 2 weeks on ice as a novice scientist.
